Job Summary
The Electrical Helpers & Apprentices should be self-starting, motivated, individuals. Applicants must live within reasonable daily driving distance of our main office in Wetumpka, AL (25 miles +/-). Employment is contingent on a clean Drug Screening (Hair and Urine) and a Criminal Background check free of any felonies. There are always a few local projects, but most projects are out of town (100 miles plus from Wetumpka, AL), so the ability and willingness to travel is a must. Typical work schedules allow for returning home every 1 to 2 weeks.
In this position, some of the skills you will learn are:

Practice and demonstrate Jobsite Safety
-
Electrical materials and how to properly select and install them
-
Bend & install conduit
-
Select & install building wire and cable
-
Read & interpret blueprints
-
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
-
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other electrical tools, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

Connect motors, control panels, starters, disconnects and test to insure efficient operation

Connect control panels to power source
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma, or GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
This position demands that you are in good physical shape. Ability to work in summer heat & winter cold will be required. A candidate must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for an extended period. Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects over 50 pounds is a regular requirement. Working in crawlspaces, trenches, and high elevations is also a regular requirement. You will also need to be able to distinguish varying shades of color.
DUTIES & TASKS:

Willingness, and ability, to travel to various job sites in the Southeast USA. (Typical out of town stays are 1- 2 weeks) Out of town work will comprise 75%-90% of your work year.

Ability to receive written, or verbal, daily task assignments from a Supervisor and execute the assigned tasks.

Effective quality control combined with the ability to complete work in a neat, safe, and professional manner

Construction Site Job Experience

Commercial Electrical Experience

Possession of an OSHA 10 Card

Experience with any of the following are a plus: (Fire Alarm, TeleData, Fiber, PLC, Controls, Intercoms/Speakers, CCTV, Mechanical, Welding)

Attendance or Graduation from an approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
